PCEES Management Framework

PCEES was set-up in February 2020 to serve as a vehicle for national/international participation in petroleum and chemical engineering education and practice, to enhance research and development in the teaching and practice of petroleum and chemical engineering and to act as catalyst for the implementation of far-reaching development goals. To ensure strong interventions and value creation, PCEES draws on the best current knowledge from the Ministries of Education and school authorities on how to tackle the issues, applying interventions creatively in different contexts. Our management framework draws from the following five supports:

  1. Feedback: PCEES improves its accountability to senior manager, governing council, and donors by hearing from partners and locals. Feedback constitutes a crucial priority for PCEES reforms.
  2. Transparency: PCEES believes in achieving an appropriate standard of transparency at corporate and operational levels. PCEES discloses results and finances to the governing council and publishes performance summaries as required. It is our aim to both set and meet standards of transparency at the operational or programs level using mechanisms appropriate for the local context.
  3. Dialogue. PCEES set standards for its programs about levels of dialogue with external stakeholders. Various methods will probably be useful in unlike circumstances, ranging from complaints mechanisms, to participatory tools, to annual review meetings. PCEES shall work with the institutions requiring the most intervention.
  4. Verification: Assessments of PCEES’s performance will include audited reports rather than only self-assessments. Thus the public, stakeholders, sponsors, partners, government and other authorities can verify the reports and results of PCEES.
  5. Resource Allocation: PCEES shall allocate resources to different interventions on the basis of how much external stakeholders support the Society, including the anticipated outcomes and capacity to deliver.
